Fall 2004
Dear Friends,
This is an invitation to participate in the ASHM’s Annual Appeal for our current fiscal year, July 1, 2004 through June 30, 2005. We hope that after you read about some of the exciting new developments at the museum (below) you will make a gift this year.
Why we need you. Museums depend on income from a number of sources. The most obvious are membership and admission. However, they never cover the total expenses for keeping the museum open and maintained, let alone providing exciting new exhibitions and events. That is why donations are so important.
The Annual Appeal is one of the most important ways we have for individuals to support the Museum. It is your support that enables the ASHM to sustain its legacy as one of the premiere Swedish-American museums in the country and provide comprehensive education and community outreach programs to our members, the public, and 3,000 school children per year.
Your donation has an impact. When we apply to Foundations and Corporations for funding, they are impressed by high levels of member participation in Annual Appeals. 100% member participation in our Annual Appeal will demonstrate amazing support for our museum and increase our success rate with Foundations and Corporations for funds.
Our goal for this year is 100% participation. It is the act of giving, not the amount, that makes the difference and demonstrates the vitality of our museum. Donations of all amounts are greatly appreciated.
We are grateful for the many donors like you who realize the importance of our education and outreach programs to preserve, present, and enjoy Swedish and Swedish-American history and culture. We hope you will make your gift today to support us in continuing these programs. Tack så mycket!
Sincerely yours,
Sandra S. Pfaff
