About the print:
This print was the centerpiece of the exhibition Printed Identity at ASHM in 2000. It was the result of Swedish artist SvenRobert Lundquist's residency at the Rutgers Center for Innovative Print and Paper. Lundquist collaborated with master printer Randy Hemminghaus on the print, organized as a rectangle within a rectangle. The inner rectangle shows a group of trees from a distance and the outer rectangle offers a close-up view.

About the artist:
SvenRobert Lundquist lives in Göteborg, Sweden, and has exhibited frequently since his debut in 1968 including in all subsequent print triennials in Sweden. He has also exhibited in many international print exhibitions including solo shows in San Francisco, Budapest, Cologne, and Reykjavik. His work is in the permanent collections of the National Museums in Stockholm and Oslo; the British Museum, London; the Aschenbach Foundation, San Francisco; and more than twenty other museums worldwide. Lundquist is responsible for the Konsthallen exhibitions in Göteborg and has arranged many Swedish art exhibitions in other countries including the biennials in Venice, Sao Paolo, Sydney, Istanbul, and Johannesburg. He has also executed sculptures and co-authored and edited books and articles on printmaking.
