Looking for a fun summer activity? Enjoy a beautiful day discovering new cultures at the American Swedish Historical Museum’s first-ever Scandinavian Celebration Day!

Many Scandinavian nations celebrate their national days in the early summer months so we are coming together as a community to celebrate the history and culture of each group at the Museum.

Learn about Scandinavian traditions through:

  • Samples of Scandinavian treats
  • Live music –Nyckelharpa Performance by Bronwyn Bird & Justin Nawn at 2 pm
  • Museum tours at 1 pm and 3 pm
  • Viking lawn games
  • Language conversation tables
  • Quiz walk through the Museum galleries
  • Meet-and-greet with Honorary Counsuls: Lauren Swartz (Sweden), Susan Satkowski (Norway), and Joseph Kuffler (Denmark)
