Free Virtual Lunchtime Lecture: "Restauration Revisited - A Voyage Through Time & Legacy" with Tom Olmstead

Restauration Revisited
date(s)
time
12:00 - 1:00 pm (EST)

On October 9th, a replica of the Restauration will arrive in New York City, retracing the 1825 voyage of 53 Norwegian immigrants seeking religious freedom, including the great-great-grandmother of presenter Tom Olmstead.

His presentation follows their journey from Norway to New York, through the Erie Canal to upstate New York, and later migrations to the Midwest, chronicling hardships and resilience. Inspired by family artifacts found in an attic, including an 1825 passport and letters from his great-great-grandmother Sarah, Olmstead’s lifelong research honors the courage and enduring legacy of these early pioneers.

This lecture will be presented over Zoom. Register below to receive the link. This event is supported by the Son of Norway Foundation.
