Like the more familiar Dala horses (dalahästar), Dala pigs (dalagrisar) have been hand-carved and painted in the Dalarna region of Sweden for generations. During this hands-on workshop, participants will paint their own Dala pig while learning the traditional art of Dala painting.
Annika Gyllenhaal will demonstrate the painting styles and techniques using vintage Dala horses and pigs from a local collection, which will be on display throughout the workshop. Each participant will receive a hand-carved, unpainted Dala pig to decorate. You may choose to paint a traditional design or create your own interpretation.
$70 for Members, $80 for Nonmembers.
