Explore the stories and personal objects that were central to Swedish immigrants who left their lives in Sweden to forge new paths in America. In this exhibition, you’ll learn about the important things immigrants chose to bring with them to their new home, and how they transformed their new material culture in America into symbols of their Swedish heritage as a way to uphold their connections to the past. Gallery talks will be led by Curatorial Intern Olivia Grasso and ASHM Curator Christopher Malone at 4:30 pm and 5:15 pm.

This is a free event held after the ASHM Annual Meeting. Pre-registration is required unless already registered for the Annual Meeting and indicated attendance for this reception.
