About:

The American Swedish Historical Museum welcomes all people to explore cultural identity through the story of Swedes and Scandinavians in America. The ASHM is a community dedicated to preserving and interpreting material culture and is alive with celebrations, exhibitions, and learning experiences. Founded in 1926, the museum is the oldest Swedish museum in the United States. It is located in beautiful FDR Park in South Philadelphia. The Museum has approximately 8,000 square feet of exhibition space which includes both permanent and temporary exhibitions with a range of topics from colonial history to modern art.

ASHM consists of a small and passionate team that works closely with our community to create a dynamic place to explore cultural identity through the Scandinavian-American experience.
