Part-Time Weekend Manager

The American Swedish Historical Museum is hiring part-time staff to manage the museum on weekends. The position is 12-24 hours per month, Saturdays and Sundays during the museum’s open hours. Additional hours during museum events and in the evenings may also be available.

General Description:
The basic duties of this part-time staff position is visitor services. This includes front desk management, admission sales and greeting visitors, gift shop sales, answering telephones and visitor inquiries, as well as general museum security. Staff will also be expected to open and close the museum on weekends, maintain a daily record of admission/attendance, be able to inform visitors about the museum, exhibitions, and up-coming events, and assist with Museum membership registration. Additional administrative projects such as help with museum mailings may also be required. The position offers an hourly rate of $11.

Requirements:
Ideal candidates will have experience with customer service, as well as using computers and cash registers. Experience in arts and cultural institutions is a plus. Minimum education of a high school diploma is required.
