Family Earth Day

Celebrate Earth Day at the American Swedish Historical Museum (ASHM)! Swedes are known for their green initiatives and sustainability efforts, and ASHM wants to share these with your family. Join us for activities on recycling and sustainability. Families can learn about composting, get creative with recycled crafts, enjoy our green books story nook, and make starter plantings!

Spring Ting Online Auction

Are you looking for a unique gift for yourself or someone else? Check out our online auction! Our annual Spring Ting online auction includes jewelry, Swedish glass, antiques, textiles, gift cards, books, artwork, and tickets to experiences. You can bid on items from $20 to $200. The auction helps to support the Museum’s education programs, events, and exhibitions.

Spring Ting Dinner & Auction

The American Swedish Historical Museum is excited to celebrate Finland at our Spring Ting Fundraiser on April 29th. Join us for an evening with a catered three-course dinner by Jeffery A. Miller Catering, a silent auction, and a musical performance by a string trio led by Brooke Beazley. This will also be the perfect opportunity to view the Radically Marimekko exhibition.

Toddler Time: Celebrate Sweden!

Sweden’s National Day is on June 6th. This month we will learn what makes Sweden special! We will read the book The Swedish Girl of Motala by Eric Basir and learn about different people who call Sweden home. Children will play games and participate in our National Day parade.

Toddler Time is free for ASHM members, $5 per non-member child and accompanying adult is free. Pay at the door or pre-register below.

Midsommarfest

Please join us on Saturday, June 24th at 4 pm to hoist the maypole, dance in celebration, and eat smörgåstårta! Admission to the event includes traditional folk music by the Last Chance Duo, family activities, and full access to the Museum. Food and flower crowns will be available for purchase.

Tickets are available at the gate and are $5 and children under 5 are free. The event will be held rain or shine under our event tent on the Museum Terrace. Glad midsommar!

Toddler Time: Marimekko Shapes

The world is made up of shapes, and you can find many shapes in Marimekko fabrics! Children will learn their shapes through interactive songs and stories. Families will then explore the Museum and the Marimekko exhibition as they go on a shape search! Floor games, matching, and stamp art will “round” out their day of fun and learning.

Toddler Time is free for ASHM members, $5 per non-member child and accompanying adult is free. Pay at the door or pre-register below.
