Shop From Home Evening

Ready to do some early Christmas shopping but prefer to do it from home? Sign up for a 20-minute time slot, and you will be assigned a personal shopping assistant who will contact you via video chat to help you make selections from the ASHM gift shop. Your purchases can be mailed or picked up. To register for a time slot, call 215-389-1776.

CraftNOW Create

Craft steps out of the studio and into the hearts of Philadelphians with CraftNOW Create! Join ASHM as we celebrate the Sami people with this bracelet craft that incorporates traditional Sami colors and patterns.

This year Smith Memorial Playground is hosting CraftNOW Create outside on their beautiful campus Saturday, November 5, from 10 am-1 pm. Demonstrations and take-home kits will be set up on their wrap-around porch and immediately in front of the Playhouse.

Fall Genealogy Meeting

Gather with fellow ASHM members at the Museum and explore the branches of your Swedish ancestry! 

The Genealogy Club invites museum members to join them for an afternoon of research assistance in the Nord Library from 1:00 - 4:00 pm on Sunday, October 23rd. 

*Program Update*
The scheduled discussion on the Swedish Colonial Society's nine-volume publication, Colonial Records of Swedish Churches in Pennslyvania, to be given by Reverand Dr. Kim-Eric Williams has been rescheduled for a future date. 

Lucia Rehearsal

Museum members are invited to have their children participate in our annual Lucia performance on December 3rd and 4th. Children will have fun dressing up as tomtar, pepparkakor, folk dancers, star boys, and Lucia and her attendants while singing traditional Swedish Christmas songs. Attendance at both rehearsals is required.

Toddler Time: Sami Traditions

Celebrate indigenous people’s month at ASHM. Families will learn about the Sami people and their traditions as we explore Sami objects in the collection. Join us as we read “Inger’s Promise” by Jami Parkison and play reindeer games.

Live reindeer will join us from the Spruce Ridge Reindeer farm!

Toddler Time is free for members and $5 per non-member child. Adults are free. Pre-register below or pay at the door.
